Kate is a European Patent attorney with experience in drafting, prosecution, including UK, European and foreign prosecution, oppositions and appeals, and IP audits. Her technical focus is on mechanical engineering and physics fields. Kate has experience working around subsea technologies and energy, with innovations ranging from oil & gas to seaweed. She also enjoys working in the medical devices field.
Prior to EIP, Kate worked for an international law firm where she developed strong skills in drafting, and oppositions work. She has significant drafting experience including helping build client’s portfolios around their commercial goals and thoroughly enjoys this element of her role alongside the contentious experience she has gained handling oppositions. Kate is also adept in handling prosecution work on a global basis including jurisdictions such as US, China, Japan and Brazil.
Kate completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property from Bournemouth University. She also holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics from The University of Sheffield.
